What is a FAM Trip?
Familiarization Trips, better known as Fam Trips, are educational trips organized exclusively for media partners or travel agents and resellers, by travel businesses such as tour operators and accommodation establishments.
Is there any sales quota I need to reach?
You are the CEO of your own Travel Business. You decide how much you want to work which will generate how much you make! So, no sales quota from Levarté Travel, however we will be pushing you to maximize your potential to make travel your career!
Do I have to sign a contract for any length of time I plan to stay at Levarté Travel?
No, you do not have to sign a “length of time” contract, just an independent contractor agreement.
What is the difference between a Travel Agent and a Travel Advisor?
Nothing. Travel agents and travel advisors both help with travel planning, but travel advisors offer more personalized services and support.
How long does it take to get started without any travel experience?
It takes about 3 to 4 weeks to complete the initial training. Travel Advisors who work hard on getting their first clients booked usually receive their first commission in six months.
Do you have to wait for your client to travel before you get the commissions?
Yes. We pay commission after the travel is completed; however, we do pay commission weekly.
What if I am not that traveled? Can I still be a successful Travel Advisor?
Yes, you can! All you need is a desire to travel and love for researching fun and exciting destinations.
What is a host agency?
Host agencies help support the needs of Independent Travel Advisors by offering a variety of resources, such as marketing and technology, access to suppliers, and ongoing support. A host offers typically higher commission from suppliers, accounting services, Error and Omissions (E&O) insurance, and so much more.
What is IATA?
IATA (International Air Transportation Association) is a trade association for the industry. Our agency has an IATA accreditation. Once you reach $5K in annual commission, your business name will be listed under our IATA and gives you the ability to obtain an IATA card.
If you choose to obtain a business license, register your DBA or LLC, or business domain, there could be a minimal cost. These are all third-party costs, not through Levarté Travel, and they are optional.
Can I cancel my membership?
Yes, you can cancel your membership anytime. If you cancel within 30 days, you get a full refund.
What can I expect in extra cost for starting my own travel business in addition to the registration fee and monthly subscription?
There is minimal extra cost to start your own business. Your city and state will have costs to obtain your business license and to register your dba or LLC. You will also need to get your own domain name. GoDaddy is one of many sources to use.
What is CLIA Certification?

CLIA’s training and certification programs are designed to make you the consumer’s most knowledgeable cruise resource and increase your cruise sales and commissions.
Do I have to have relationships with travel suppliers or vendors to start my own travel business?
No, you do not. We have long-standing relationships with the suppliers and their business sales managers.

Responsibilities of a Travel Advisor
